Backlinks For Chiropractic Websites?

Last Updated: June 25, 2019

If you have a chiropractic website today then I’m sure you’ve wondered what it takes to have a top Google rank in your city? There must be some formula to it right? In this blog post I’m going to talk about the topic of backlinks and how you can use them to boost your rank.

What is a Backlink?

To start off I probably need to explain what a backlink is? A backlink is a link on one website that brings you to another website. So let’s say that I have an article on my website that talks about your business. I include a link in that article that takes the person to your website if they click it. That’s one example of a backlink.

Google and other search engines are looking at your backlinks pretty closely these days. In the beginning of SEO or search engine optimization it was all about quantity. The more links you had the better you would rank. Today it’s much more about quality. How many high quality links do you have pointing at your website.

Sources of Backlinks?

It’s clear that you need high quality links pointing to your website, but where do you get them. There are a number of popular sources out there, but many are not very safe today. I hear people say on a regular basis that Google is always changing everything. While that is true in some ways, Google is really not changing what they want to see.

Google promotes high quality content that they trust. The reason people say they are changing is that they no longer allow people to cheat the system. Trust me when I say that I was one of the best at cheating the system. I could get a top rank in any city using automated programs. Today that type of work is really not worth doing. Google is too good at finding people that are cheating, and it’s harder to cheat than it is to produce good content.

Here’s what I consider to be the best places to build links today:

  • Write well optimized blog posts that you place on your website. The posts should be linked to other articles on your site to help build up the internal strength of your website.
  • Create lots of YouTube videos, and optimized them for search in your city.
  • Do a press release from time to time.
  • Make sure you have all the top directory listings setup for your office.

My prediction as we go through the next five years is that video will become more and more powerful as a link building tool. It’s a link that is hard to monopolize, and Google owns YouTube. I believe that the doctors that dominate the video market will dominate the overall market they work in.

Getting your website to rank well consistently is a full time job. At Inception Chiropractic Websites we work with a small group of clients that expect to see outstanding results. Our clients and focus on their job while we watch out for them online. It’s a great partnership that results in a great ROI.
